CLEVEDON.
Reference to the death of Mr J. McKnight, of Clevedon, was made by Mr E. W. Alison, at the annual meeting of the Clevedon Steam Navigation Company, Limited, on Tuesday. Mr Alison spoke of the death of Mr McKnight as a loss to the settlers of Clevedon and adjacent districts. Mr McKnight had always been recognised as an honourable and sympathetic friend, and one who olways had endeavoured to promote the general advancement and welfare of the whole of the people.
