POKENO.

WAIKATO DAIRY COMPANY MEETING. A meeting of the above-named Company was heM iu the Pokeno Hall last week when the managing director (Mr W. Goodfellow) and one of the diiectors (Mr E. G. Willy, of Turua) addressed the suppliers. There was a good attendance and Mr Kelly was vofbd to the chair. Mr Goodfellow's address was on similar lines to others already reported. Mr Willy, in the course of his remarks, stated that the Waikato Company was out to give its suppliers a square deal and was working entirely in their interests. He corroborated Mr Goodfellow's statement that he (Mr Goodfellow) had never exercised his vote at a directors' or other meeting or refuted statements that Lad been made to that effect. Regarding shares, Mr Willv stated that reports had been ciiculated that the Waikato Company only bought shares at a discount, but Mr Willy made it quite plain that where a supplier gave up dairying Bhares were repurchased at face value. Mr Leatham asked if the Waikato Company paid interest on shares.

Mr Goodfellow, in reply, said that the Waikato Company found no difficulty in paying 8 per cent on shares whether fully paid up or otherwise and in answer to further questions said he believed the New Zealand Dairy Association had decided to pay no interest in future, It was announced that arrangements had been made with Mr Green to cart the Razorback cream on the same ternii as last year and that Mr Kelly's contract for the Pokeno 'cream had also been renewed.

A vote of thanks to the directors proposed by Mr Norrie and seconded by Mr Leatham was carried by hearty acclamation.
