POKENO ROAD BOARD.
Monthly Meeting. The usual monthly meetting of the Pok*na Koad Board, held jesterday, was attended bv Messrs K. H. McKeizie, chairman, J. McCaw, R. '.jons and C. P. O'Leary. GA-'ils ON ROADS. Mr W. J. Lewis, Maungatawhiri Valley, wrote requesting the Board io issue instructors to Mr Keats to remove four gates from a road tunning through hii property. 'lhe writer claimed that they were a nuisance to him, ss he had to pa r s through - thun to arrive at the boundary. On Mr Lyons' proposal it was decided that Mr Keats should be requested to put rotices on all four gates to show t'jat the road wan a public thoroughfare,'to place la ches on the gates so as they could be opened ard closed easily, and alsi to put six yards ct metal in the gateway near the river, and three yards in the gateway adjoining the slaughterhouse; the request to be complied with within a month from date, failing which the Board would consider the question ot the removal of tbe gates. DEFAULTING RATEPAYERS. As the arrears of rates amounted to £l7 13s lid, and as the Board had lost subsidy on half that amount, it was r s lved to forward the particulars to the Franklin Counly Council when the Boatd merged with a request that they be sued for. A BELATED PROMISE.
Mr J. T. Dean was present and r minded he Board *>f its promise made "some two years previously to pive him four yards of metal to be put on Dean's road, Pokeno Hill. — Mr Lyons agreed that the Fraklin Coumy Council shouli fulfil the request. MISCELLANEOUS.
Mr Lyors was deputed to inspect that portion ot the Paparata road between Brown's and Frasir's properties, ard it he thought lit to arrange tor the expenditure of £4, out cf an allocation of £lB nn the road.
It was revived to piece three nine uch pipe? cn Crate's road.
It wrs a?reed to allow Mr Buckingham, who was anxinus Lr the work to te done on Stewart's road, £1 towards having the work put in hand. CEMETERY COMMITTEE.
At the conclusion of the Road Board the members tat as the Cemetery Committee and it was resolved" that the -credit balance, amounting to £1.3 14s 3iJ, should be transferred to the Roard Board account.
