Owing to the receipt of a notice from the Railway Poparttnent that the tennis courts on the railway reservo would have to be dispensed with by reason of the ground being wanted for railway purposes a meeting of the Papakura tennis club was recently held to consider the matter. A decision to disband the club was como to aud it was agreed to donate £ls from the club's linance 3 to the Navy Fund and the balance, amounting to about the same sum, to the local Patriotic Fund It is to be regretted that by the theft of the hose from the tennis couit some individual robbed the Navy Fund of further assistance as it was intended to sell the hose and to give the proceeds to the fund.
