DRYING THE ZUYDER ZEE.

The problem of removing tlio water from the flooded district of Xorth Holland has not yet been salved. The cost is estimated at £lB- - part of which is to cover indemnities to fishenncn and for similar purposes. The cost of the dams will probably he less than £10,000.000. The principal dam would be about 15 miles long, averaging 20 feet in height. Onej of the mo«t important results accruing' from the drying of the Zuvder Zee would be that the new dam> would take Lie place of the several hundred miles of dyke? that now protect tiie lowlands from the Zuvder Zee.
