The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company report as follows :
On Monday, at Pukekohe, we held a special dairy sale. There was a very large yarding, 420 dairy cows and heifers and 10 bulls being yarded, and we report a good sale. Best dairy cows sold at from £lO 10s to £lB 10s, others £6 to £9 15s; best dairy heifers £9 to £ls 10s, others £5 10s to £8 15s. The advertised Shorthorn bull made 20 guineas. On Tuesday, at Pukekohe, we had a full yarding of fat and store cattle, and high prices were realised. Fat cows and steers were penned in full numbers and sold at fully Westfield prices, fat steers selling at from £l3 10s to £l7 ; fat cows and heifers, £8 to £l4 5s ; grown steers, in forward condition, sold at from £ll 15s to £H 10s; two to threa-year-old steers, £7 10s to £ll 10s ; yearling to 18 months steers, £5 to £6 17s (id; heifers, same age, £3 17s 6d to £5 12s 6d; empty cows, £0 5s to £8 12 s 6d ; steer calves, £3 15s to £5 2s; heifer calves, £2 10s to £4 ; calves, mixed sexes, £2 10a to £3 10s; inferior calves, £l 12s tid to £2 5s ; bulls, £8 to £ls 15s.
-' At Westfield fat stock sale on Wednesday, beef was penned in full numbers, and prices were irregular. Extra heavy weights showed a slight deline, but other sorts sold at last week's rates. Choice quality ox sold to £2 6s, others £2 2s to £2 5s per 1001b; cow and heifer beef £2 Is to £2 4s for first quality, others £1 18s to £2. Steers sold at from £l2 to £23 15s for a steer fattened by Mr Willis McLaughlin, Papatoe - toe, and bought by Messrs K ami W. Hellaby. Some of the averages weie : 0 steers from Mr Willis McLaughlin, Papatoetoe, £2O 12s Od; 42 fcteera from Messis Friedlauder Bros., Surrey Estate, £lB 14s 6d; 16 steers from Mr Wm. Gollan, Panmure, £l7 ss. Calves were penned in full numbers, and sold at last week's prices. Runners sold at from £6 5s to £8 12s 6d; heavy suckers £4 12s to £6 7s 6d; medium suckeis, £3 10s to £4 10s; light suckers, £ 1 14s to £3 ss; small and fresh-dropped, 3s to£l os, Sheep were penned in large numbers, and receded slightly iu .values. Best wethers sold at from £1 16s to £2 kls, no extra heavyweights being yarded, others £1 12s to £1 15s Od ; best ewe*, £1 14s to £2 0s 6df others £1 7s to £1 13s 3d; hoggets £1 3s to £1 os. Lambs were penned in average numbers, sold at late rates, and sold at for best £1 2s to £1 6s 3d, others 183 to £1 Is 3d. Pigs were penned in full numbers, atd sold at slightly impro\ed prices. Choppers sold at fioui £4 15s to £7 ; heavy baconers, £4 8s to £4 lbs; medium baconers, £3 15s to £4 ss; light baconers, £3 3s to £3 12s; heavy porkers, £2 13s to £3 Is; medium porkers, £2 4s to £2 12s; light porkers, £1 16s to £2 3s; slips, £1 7sto£l 15s; weaners, £1 2s to £1 ss; suckers, 13s to £l.
