PAPAKURA.
PAPAKUKA PATRIOTIC LEAGUE The usual monthly Committee meeting was held on Tuesday last in tne Pariah Hall, when Mr Alfred Willis presided over a practially full Committee. Apologies for non-attendance were received from Mr P. Holt and Kev. W. S. Potter. The stcretary's and treasurer's reports were received and adopted. The question of the forthcoming concert was diecussed at considerable length, and the matter ot making the necessary arrangements was left in the hands of the subcommittee appointed for the purpose. The secretary was instructed to convey the heartiest thanks of the Committee to tbe Papakura Methodist Trustees for their patriotic action in giving the use ot their new Hall for the concert, which will be field on Friday, July 14th. A most attractive miscellaneous programme has been arranged by the Manurewa Musical Society, and the services ot Mrs Laura Walker, one ot Auckland's leading soDrauos, has been specially engaged tor the occasion. The secretary was instructed to convey to Mi?s Anderson and the ladies who assisted her, the best thanks of the Committee for their efforts in providing £7 for the Navy League Fund. The following resolutions were passed unanimously:—"That the letter from the Auckland Navy League to tbe chairman of the Town Board be referred back to the Town Board, with an intimation that this League will cordially cooperate in any steps the Board may take to gi-ve effect to the request exprrssed in tbe letter," and "That the Papakura Athletic Club be invited to give a subscription to the Patriotic Fund."
