COUNTY'S NEW RATE.
At yesteday's meeting of the Franklin County Council the consideraton of the framing ol the general rate for the current year was taken "in committee," and a resolution was passed fixing the rate, in each instance on the capital value, as follows:—Awhitu riding Jd in the £, Drury, ljd; Hunua, ljd,; Mauku, ljd; Mercer, Jd; Pukekohe, 1 1} d; Waipipi, Jd; Waiuku, lid. In the case ot the Mercer, Pukekohe and Waipipi Ridings last year's rate is advanced by onefarthing, but in tbe other ndingß the rate remains the same as last year.
