"ELIGIBLES" IN PUKEKOHE.
Result of the Canvass. Tbe list of "eligibles" in thu borough of i'ukekohe as asked for by the Recruiting board has now been completed by the local Recruiting Committee, a personal canvass having been carried out. The total number of eliigbles is 302, made up of 170 married men and 12(5 single. The roll as compiled from the National Register cuntained the names of 131 eligibles, to which 46 others were added by the committee, making a gross total of 480. From this number names were deducted as follows, viz. belonging to Franklin County or other districts 32, left for unknown destinations 15, already in camp 2G, on roll above military age 5, unknown 9, duplicate entry 1, total 178, leaving a nett total of :il)2 as already stated.
