MERCER.

Mr S. C. Sycamore has a business notice appearing in this issue to the effect that he is prepared to cure pigs at Mercer by a process known as thu Scientific Mild Cure. Mr Sycamore was for twelve months manager of the Marlborough Farmers' Bacon Company, at Blenheim, and has to his credit one hundred first prizes for curing pigs, whilst his pupils have taken another one hundred prizos. At last week's meetiug of the Waikato County Council a letter was received from Mr Edward Hallett, of Mercer, asking for the Council's assistance in erecting a bridge across the Mangawharo Creek, in order that access may be provided to a number of farms.— It was decided to reply stating that an inspection had beeu made of the locality, the result of which was that the locality was subjected to floods, and, therefore, the Council could not see its way clear to comply with the request.
