Franklin Hockey Association. The annual meeting of representatives of the Franklin Hockey Association was held in Pukekohe on Thursday, the 11th inst. 'J he repoit and balance Bbeet, the latter shoeing a credit balance of •Id, were read and adopted Ih2 election ot officers for the ensu-irg seaeon resulted as follows, viz : —Patron, the ltight Hon W F Mas:cy; president, Mr J Pollock; viieprisident, Mr A U Woollett; Eecrttaty and treasurer, Mr H Hoterts It was resolved that the committee Bhuuld consist of one delegate from each affiliated Uut\ acd the following wue appointed, viz, Messrs H G H M8so", Pukenohe; E Pollock, Pir.i; ti Penny, Suburbs; and Sheppard, Mauku J he meeting accepted with thanks an offtr ol Mr W Uu; st to present an oak shield for competition, conditiorally tbtit it was not won outright It was resolved that in addition to the silver [ late to te attached to the shield, with the name of the winuing Club thereto, badges should be presented to the winners—only players who i»ave played twice cr more in competition matches to be enti.lad to the same The areas of the different clubs from which to draw players were defined It wa3 agreed that a seven-a-side tournament Bhould be held at the conclusion of the second round, and that three rounds should decide the cbampiorship It was resolved that in the event of two teams being equil in points at the end of the third round the teams should |Jiy off, and, further, that (he secretary should endeavour to form a referee's association
The uestion of registering new players was considered, and it waß decided that it any of tbe Clubs wished to register rew j layers that they be permitted to do so subject to the app'oval (f the Association, but that no new registration could be mac!e after the conclusion of the cecond round The fixtures arranged were aa followi FIKST KOUND May 27th-Pukekohe v. I'uni, at Pukekohe; Mauku v. Suburbs, at Patumahoe June 3rd—Suburb3 v. I'ukekohe, at Suburbs; Puni v. Mauku, at Puni June lUth-Suburbs v. Puni, at Suburbs; I'ukekohe v. Mauku, at Pukekohe SiiCOND KUUND June 17th—Puoi v. I'ukekohe, at Puni; Suburbs v. Mauku, at Suburbs June 24th—Pukekohe v. Suburbs, at Pukekohe; Mauku v, Puni, at Patumahoe •July Ist- Puni v. Suburbs, at funi; Mauku v. Pukekohe, at Patumahoe Tbe opening of the hockey season in the Franklin County was celebrated un Saturday in fine weather. Friendly games were played at Patumahoe between teams representing the Puni and Mauku Clubs and at Puktkohe between the Suburbs ard Pukekohe. In tbe former match Puni had rather an easy win by nine goals to one, fcored by E Pollock 4, E Lucas 3, D Maloney and J Pollock one each and for the losers by C Fulton. Tbe match at Pukekohe was won by Suburbs by four goals to two. Mr H Hoberta relereed at Patuirahoa and Mr T Skinner at Pukekohe
