SUCCESSFUL FATKiOI'IC CONCERT
Un Thursday evening of last week the local branch of the Worcc/s Patriotic League added another successful cute.tainment and dance to their credit This time tha pro ccedings included the performance of a mirth provoking farce, "Bingley's Blunder," which was staged by the Unity Coupany, the characters baicg taken is follows, viz.- :Mr Binghv Blissington, Mr E Ucvtll; His Wife, Misj N Bell; Mr Ben Baikmgton, Mr V Uydtr; Miss Beatrice Batkington, Miss K Lewis; Mr hob Breccwell, Mr J Kyder; and Angline, the maid, Mis 3 B Lewis
The concert was also of a bright and entertaining! nature. It was ontnbutfd to ai folbws:—Vocsl Bartrum, Grimtrhuw and Kev Costain 2 and Private C Kyder; vocal duet, Mr Grimshaw and Hev Coatain; ovreture, Mis; L McGahan; violin sub, Miss Peggy Mungall; tableau* aid sancs, Mr 1 Patterson and Miss L Leaman respectively; recitation by five pupils of the Tuakau .School and a reading by Miss E Paton
Mr W Graham acted as chairiran, and in that capacity took the opportunity ot delivering a vigorous recruiting speech, in which he impressed on the audience how essential it was thai eiligiblt: men sfcould go out and EUpport their gallant brothers in (he struggle for justice and liberty
The entertainment concluded with a dance, the music for which was eupplied by Miss M Geraghty and Mr L Stevenson Mrs Hunter and Miss F Dickens officiated at the piano durirg tfce concert
