SNEAK THIEF'S HAUL.

At Manurewa and Paerata.

On Friday morning last a sneak thief paid an unwelcomo visit to various huts of the railway camp at Manurewa whilst their occupants were engaged on their daily duties. His haul included £8 in notes and a shirt, the property of Poiter Kearney ; a new overcoat valued at £2 10s, belonging to a Dalmatian ; and three watches. One of the watches, belonging to aMaoii, was the next morning found in the vicinity of the railway stat'on platform.

Porfer Kearney's loss is distinctly unfortunate for him as he has enlisted and proceeds to Trentliam at the end of the month, in view of which he had saved up money for camp requirements. The culprit is supposed by the police to be tho same individual who, on the previous Tuesday, made a similar raid on the railway workers' camp at Paerata, where his booty consisted of a goll ring valued at £4, the property of John Pratt; a silvor watch and chain, valued at £1 10s, the property of William Wotli9rspoon ; and two sums of money (5s and 13s Gd) belonging to John Wilson and John Childerhouse respectively.
