THANK GOD FOR THE NAVY!
When strategists blunder And newspapers thunder, We ask ourselves, "Where are we go-
ing?" Each shuffle and change Takes an age to arrange, And storm clouds are steadily growing Yet —the corn's n the blade And there's plenty of trade From the Tyne and the Tweed to the
Tavy; And as day follows day In tho usual way, Wo murmur, "Thank God for the Navy!"
Though we never run short Of conflicting report, And the outlook's a trifle obscure, Though the crash of the fray Is just over the way, Our tight little island's secure. When we sit down to eat Our joint of roast meat. With trimmings and plenty of gravy, May the whole British race, In repeating its grace, Add a heartfelt "Thank God for the Navy!" —Jessie Pope, in tho "Daily Express."
