COOL WIRELESS ARTIST.
SKETCHED SUBMARINE AS IT SANK HIS VESSEL.
When the ship in which you arc sailing is about to be torpedoed by a German submarine i.s not a time which most people would select to make sketches,
This, however, was the feat informed by -Mr. Percival Denison, the wire less operator of the Den of Crombie, which was -unk recently in the Mediterranean. As soon as the vessel was held up by the enemy sumbarine, lie noticed that the latter had a wireless* equipment, and forthwith made a ro /h sketch of it. When making away from the sinkinsr vessel, he aNo sketched the Men,. Iwhind him. Th.se two slut, lies have now been re-drawn, and are published in the current number ot the "Wireless World." together with a detailed account, supplied by Mr. Denison. of the aerial equipment. This consists of a single telescopic steel mast erected amidships, carrying at the top a permanently fixed spreader, and the wires arc secured to the deck. The most ingenious feature of the installation is the method for rapidly erecting and dismantling the aerial structure. The wlmlc of the operation can he carried out after the order has been given to submerge ami before the upper portions of the deck are awash.
