RUNCIMAN.
A very pleasant little gathering took place in " the barn " on Saturday night, April loth, when from forty to lifty neighbours and fiiends assembled to farewell Trumpeter Harry Brock, who was visiting the district on tinal leave from the Featherston Camp, prior to leaving f-jr the front. The evening was passed with musical items, songs, recitations, and games interspersed with dancing. Refreshments were provided by the ladies and reflected credit on their good taste. In a few well-chosen remarks Mr Jue ToOinan presented Trumpeter lirock with a pipe and tobacco as a small token of the esteem iu which ]it> was held.
