BUCKLAND.

LADY LIVERPOOL LEAGUE. BUCKLAND BEANCH. The Mayor of Auckland, Mr Gunson, and Miss Speeding, Secretary Auckland Women's Patriotic League, visited Buckland on Friday morning, March olst, to meet the ladies of the district, and to explain the workings of tjhe Auckland Women's Patriotic League. A very enjovable and interesting meeting was held t and the addresses by Mr Gunson and Miss Speeding were much appreciated. Twenty-five subscribers at least were promised per month for the "Individual Gifts" to soldiers at the Front. Morning tea was partaken •!' and a hearty vote of thanks was accorded to Mr Gunson and Miss Speeding. The monthly meeting x of the League was held un Thursday. April Oth. In the absence of Mrs Wily, president, Mrs McKean took the chair. Seventeen ladies were present. Accounts for wool were passed for payment, and the Secretary was instructed to order more wool. It was decided to meet on the first Thursday in each month in the futifte. The following amounts of cash, etc., have been received up to April 11th, viz: Mrs J. K. Hamilton, 13s; Mrs N. Jamieson and Mr W. Jerleris, 10s each ; Mesdames E. King, 6s 6d, Topham, 7s, W. Davy, T. Walker, (is ; Driver, Harris, E. Johns'.on, Pulman, MeAnally, Neal, Graham, 5s each; A. P. Home, Jas. Wylie, -Is tid each; Jas. Barber, E. Piggott, W. Jackson, E.Allan, -!s each; Josser, ;)s <id; Muiray, Kelson, H. Barber, Glimmer, 2s Cd each ; G. O'Couner, Fellows. G. Hill, Waterhouse, 2a each ; Milroy, Twidle, Hayrr, Spragg and Mr Williams, Is each; Mr Frank Wilkins, 2s. Mesdames McAnally, 9 pairs socks ; Hume, 7 pairs socks ; Jesser, -1 pairs socks; Twidle, 1 pairs socks; McKeau, Harris and M. Walker, 3 pairs each ; Avery, 2 pairs; Jas.
