r PRESBYTERIAN BAZAAR s A very successful bazaar id aid of ' the local Presbyterian Church Fund ' was held on Wednesday of last ? week. The Ladies' Guild had been a working for some months preparing for the bazaar and it must be gratir fying for them to realise that ! their efforts have been met with Buch success. The bazaar was r opened by Mr E McConnel. In addition to the sale of draperv, fancy goods, produce and confec--1 tionery, competitions were neld for cookery and butter-making and for ' shooting 3 The following is a list of the 8 prize winners:— Bread—Mi c s D Hill 1, Mrs H ' McConnel 2 1 Sponge roll—Miss N Cunning- ' ham 1 ' Sponge sandwich—Mrs G Stokes 1 ! Scones—Mis3 E Trail 1, Mrs J Doughty 2 1 Fruit cake—Mrs G White 1, Mrs f D McConnel 2 ' Dairy butter—Mrs W Ferguson 1, ! Mifs E Trait 2 Girls under seventeen years—- ] Scones: Mis 3 J Medburst 1, Miss M Heald 2; sponge cake: Miss J Medburst 1, Miss E Civil 2 Mrs J W D Sharp, of Rama Rama, acted as judge of the cookery and butter classes 1 In the shooting the first prize was won by Mr S Wilson 1 Only bix babies were entered for the baby show, the premier position | being decided by the penny votes of 1 tbfi audience. This method ot judging a youngster is possibly more lucrative than accurate. In the class for babies under six months Mrs A ' Campbell's baby came first and Mrs G Stokfs' baby second. Is the claBS tor babies one year and under Mrs J ' Doughty's baby was firs': and Mrs H McConnel's baby second The following ladies had charge of the stalls, etc.:—Fancy goods—Mesdames Medhurst and White. Plain , clothes-Mesdames Civil and Alli--1 son. Confectionery, drinks, etc.— Misses E Trail, E McConnel and E Lupton. Refreshments Mis D | McConnel and Misses N Cunning--1 ham and F Medhum.
