See also page 1 EASTEK MONDAY SFOKTS The annual Easter Monday fixture of the Papakura Athletic Club has cot b;en allowed to drop bur, on tbe contrary, the gathering this year is being accorded even greater sopport than usual. A capital entry has been receive}, and under Mr hi J Mills' able guidance and control next Monday's undertaking should give satisfaction to all concerned. The races promise to provide excellent sport and it is a distinction for Papakura that the value of trophies and prize money offered exceeds that of any other sports gathering in Auckland province. The Highland dancing events, which proved so popular last year, will again form a feature of the programme and numerous side shows will cater for the amusement of the public
Formal notice of the rates to be struck by the Papakura Town Board at its next meeting, viz., on May Ist, appears in our advertising columns.
At the meeting of householders held last nigbt the following committee was eTected: Messrs S Evans, J. Wrodhouse, W. McLean, L. J Mills, J. Andrew, W. Crichtoo, J. Walker, G Hardy, and the Rev J. D. U Madill. The latter gentleman was elected chairman and Mr Evans secretary.
