A Reply to " Scrutator." By "A Jay.") Hoity, Toity ! How the people of Pukokoho must bless tho day they came to their own when such saviours of mankiud as tho present Councillors assumed duty. What a Paradise is iu storo for Pukekohe if tho common herd of ratepayers gratefully vote the Council £BOOO. Just fancy! Water, par excellence, iu unlimited supply and no worries or cares of constant pumping. A running brook ou each side of King street, perhaps with prospects of trout fishing therein by and bye. Asphalted boulevards lighted by electricity, not to speak of pleasant dips iu the ocean ' v beg pardon—swimming tank . Ye Councillors of olde! How you missed your opportunities ? Surely Pukokoho must bo thankful that heaven-born wiseacres aro now prosidfag over its destinies. Fio on you, you curs of ratepayers, if you lefuso to swallow the pill that 11 Scrutator " vouches will cure you of all ills and evils. Oh, what a happy town is l'ukekoho !
