TUAKAU.

The Tuakau Gun Club's big shoot of the year, vi/.., for the Foley Cup, was held on Saturday last under conditions which were hardly favourable for good results. Nevertheless, a good standard prevailed and the ultimate winner, Mr Edward McGahau had to shoot oil', after tieing with two other competitors before an actual decision was arrived at. It was the sixth occasion on which the cup was competed for and no competitor has more than one victory to his credit. Mr A. H. Tapper's paddock, which was kindly lent fur the occasion, made an admirable shooting ground. Out of ten birds that formed the competition the \s innor secured " a bag " of nine. Mr S. Thorn was the previous holder of the cup.
