THE EATING OBJECTION. MAGISTRATE'S DECISION. At the Pukekohe Court on Friday last the Magistrate (Mr E. Page, 8.M.), gave his decision in regard to the objections recently heard by him in connection with a .special rating area defined by the Franklin County Council for the coat of a new road at Aka Aka, the Council's proposal b ing to take in the whole of the sections that also had a frontage to the main road and to levy a ha'f-rate on such sections. The Magistrate held that the most equitable method was to run a line through the sections in a manner as marked on the plan thus dividing them substantially in half. The back portion of each section would then be included in the special rating area and a rate > not a half rate! struck uver ithe whole of the land so included in the area. The front portion which contained most of the buildings in each case would be excluded. He added that the plan had been handed to the Council to have the necessary valuation of the back portion of the sections made by the Government Valuer and the areas calculated. When that was done the roll would be signed.
