STOCK SALE REPORTS.
The N.Z. Loan and Mercantile Agency Company report : On Saturday we held a clearing sale on account of Mr G. D. Smith, at Paparata. There was a large attendance, and satisfactory prices ruled. Unbroken horses sold up to £3O, plough horses £22 to £29, ewe 3 and lambs £1 7s. At the Westrield fat stock market yesterday beef was penned in average numbers, and sold at last weed's rates. Best ox beef sold to £2 .'is per 1001b, others £1 17s Gd to £2 2s, steers from £lO 10s to £l7 10s, best cow and heifer beef to £2 per 1001b, others £1 13s 6d to£l 1 'Js, cows from £G ">s to £l7 for the second prize taker at the Cambridge Show. Calves were penned in average numbers, and sold at late rates. Runners sold at from £5 los t) £7 17s Lid, heavy suckers £3 los to £o 7s, medium suckers £2 15s to £3 lis, light suckers £ 1 Us to £2 13s, small and fresh-dropped calves 3s to £1 7s. Sheep were penned in larger numbers than usual, and sold
at lower rates. Best wethers sold at from £1 oa 3d to £1 9s, others £1 2s t.o £1 -Is 9d, ewes, extra heavy £1 3s to £1 os, others 18s to £1 2s Gd, hoggets 18s to £1 2s Gd. Limbs, in full supply, sold at from 10s Gd to 17s 9d. Pigs were penned in large numbers, and sold at much advanced prices under keener competition. Choppers sold at from £4 17s to £6 13s, heavy bacon°rs made £3 19s to £ 1 1 Is, medium £3 13s to £3 1 Ss, light £3 2s to £o 12s, heavy porkers £2 18s to £3 lis, medium £2 9s to £2 los, light £1 18s to £2 Bs, slips £1 to £1 10s, weaners lis to 17 s.
Messrs Alfred Buckland and Sons report : On Thursday, 9th itist., we hold a clearance sale at M>s (jr. I'atou's, Pukekohe East. There was a large attendance and everything sold well. The cows and heifers realised from £3 .">s to £ll ; farm mare, £2o His ; calves, £1 IDs to £2 03 ; porkers, £2 to £2 Is; separator, £11; the implements aud sundries brought full values. At Pukekohe on Monday horses were in better demand draughts sol lat from £l7 to £2O ; medium draughts, £2O 10s to £l!2 ; bakers' and grocers 7 cart class, £l(i 10s to £2-1 ; plough horses, £ll to £2 ) 10s ; buggy horses and good hacks £l2 03 to £lB 10s ; gig ponies and ordinary riding sores, £;] to £lO 10s : medium unbrokens, two to three-year olds, £ll to £l7 10s; lighter and weeds,-£1 to £0 10s.
