MAITAITAI.

As the tenders received for 200 yards of metal for the main road were considered excessive the Wai-r.-a Road Board have deputed Messrs Luke and Duder to mako further arrangements for the work to be put in hand. The set of loin, pipes on the Maitaitai road, near the Maori Settlement, which were broken recently by a traction engine passing over them are to be replaced with a set of nine inch pipes. It is considered by the Road Board that the nine inch pipes will stand a greater strain than the larger pipes.
