RAGLAN COUNTY COUNCIL

The following was among the business transacted at last week's meeting of the Kaglan County Council KEMOVAL OF METAL Mr John Allen, Onewhero, drev the Council's attention by telegram to the removal ot metal from the Onewhero-Wairamarama main road on to the Klondyke and Kauri roads. The contract had been let to Henderson for cprting metal, acd he was making a start that day Kohaunga Road, near Muir's —A 28ft x sft x 4ft totara timber culvert had been completed and further works would be done after the completion of the Klondyke works Wylie's Road.—This rojd lisd been reformed aod graded frum Hamilton's corner to the side cutting Kauri Road.—This road ha 3 b2°n graded, widened and reformd (Jnewhero to Wairamarama Grant.—Practically all the earthworks in connection with this work have been completed, and the crushers are to start this week. 1 hope to have one mile ot metalling computed beiore the winter I'uakau bridge to Waingaro Road.—The metal has been ordeied from Mercer, and is being landed at Hallimore's landing for repairing the road lrom the bridge to Onewhero PUKEKAWA McNally has practically completed bis metal breaking c ntract acd arrangements are being made to have the same carted on the road MERCER The levels have been tiktn of "h: Roto Ngaro drainage and plana made tor draining land and lowering lake have be2n forwarded to the Waikato River Board FINANCE The treasurer, Mr Maialicd submitted the financial statement, which gave the following particulars Land fund Account, as at 3rd Credit: Ooewhero, £1 18s lid; Pukekawa, £33 7s 81 European rates collected, full amount: Onewhero, £1245 3s 1 Od: Pukekawa, £li)s 7s Id. Amounts available for works out of allocations. 1915-16: Onewhero, £772, expended £546 2s lid, having a balance of £225 17s Id; Pukekawa, £274, expended £152 16', leaving a balance of £l2l 4s
