TUAKAU.
The urgent necessity of erecting a water trough in the township is engaging the attention of the Town Board who have a copious supply of water in a creek in proximity to the township, whenco a wholesome tupply could be obtained. It has been suggested that the site for the erection should be somewhere in George street. In addition to the site purchased by the Waikato Co-operative Dairy Company, JM, h' om Mr Bycroft for the erection of a cheese factory the Company have secured two fourroamed houses ou the section. -No delinite roply has yet been received from the Prime Minister, the Et. Hon. W. F. Massey, in regard to the application for a re-valu-ation of the Town Board district and the Town Board has accordingly communicated with Mr It. F. Bollard, M.P., for the district ou the matter. A good sample of metal is coming out of the Town Board's quarry, where a contract has been let to Mr Isherwood for 2000 yards. The metal which is being spread on the main road by Mr Nicoll is also of good quality. Objections are constantly being made to the practice of stockdrivers taking cattle through George street. Only a few days ago a ram entered Mr H. B. Free's shop and caused a commotion, whilst the premises occupied by Mr L. Steyenson received a visit from a pig.
