LISTS OF ELEGIBLES.
READY FOR RECRUITING PCRPOSFS. The Prime Minister, who is chairman of the Recruiting Board, states that local rolls of eligible men. as disclosed by the national war census, have been printed, and will shortly be m the hands of local committees for use in appealing to individuals by canvass, public meeting or other means. The names appear in alphabetical order, with address and the statement ''married" or "single.''' There is no indication of the individual's attitude towards military serv.ee. Mr. Massey stages that the board has piepared special circulars for members o; Parliament, heads of local bodies and recruiting committees, fully explaining the scheme and indicating the way in which their active co-operation is desired.
Asked if it is proposed to use returned soldiers in recruiting Mr. Massey said that this large'y rests with recruiting cumin.ttces. Tlie supply of men is practically assued for the Thirteenth Reinforcements, then the Recruiting Board will start work on the Fourteenth and a draft of the Rifle Brigade. The next trained body to leave New Zealand is now at Rangiotu. and will visit Auckland.
