Papakura Water Supply.
•TO THE EDITOR.] Sir, —Would you allow me sufficient space to reply to one or two errors in Nape-Nape's letter, re tbe above. Briefly I wish to say this: Boring was not required in mv scheme. The reaervior would cost less than the lead used in j inting th; pipes .in Nape Nape's scheme. My proposal is also a gravitation supply. The 15Qlba pressure mentioned is not required in Papakura. The £6500 approximate :ost of Nape Nape's proposal would not buy the lead and pipes required, to say nothing of the laying of the main and tbe reservoir to hold millions of gallons. The engineer for my scheme would cost less than the stalf required fo look after four and a-balt miles of main under a pressure of 1501b to 2001b per square inch. J have nothing to say ajtains'. Nape Nape's proposal a* a permanent work, only that £1(5,500 vill be required to complete his proposed work, even tbouyh the material is got at pre war rates. —I am, etc, TAIHOA I'apakura, 22nd January, I'JIG
