When going down Hthe school hill a portion of tbe ■harness if the trap Mr Brnuhton was ■driving broke and the horse bolted. Hln turning tbe post office corner it ■collided with a telegraph post, Hwith the result that the animal, a ■ valuable one, was killed and Mr Mfiroughton was injured so severely as ■to recessitate him [receiving mediIcal attention. He was badly cut I about the head and legs, while Hthe cart was also extensively ■ damaged. The force of the impact ■if the horse with the telegraph post B was so great as to cause a disconnecI tion ot the telephone wires with H Pukekohe H The majority of tbe farmers in ■ the Bombay district have this year I been favoured with good hay crops, I and all have been harvested in fa'rstI class condition. The oaten crops lel o are exceedingly good, and I some exceptionally heavy crops are I recorded. Harvesting operations I are not yet completed owing to the I arge amount of land under cultiI vat ion, and ths shortage ot labour. I Tbe harvest is expected to be the I heaviest recorded for many years I On Saturday next tin adherents I of the Bombay Presbyterian and I Mttbodist churches will bold a I combined picnic at Papakura. I Young's Beach will be tbe venue I and a large number are expected I to make the jiurney Mr S Allison reports the sale of Mr Chandler's farm of 88 acres at Razorback to Mr F Jackson, at a satisfactory rigurre; also Mr W Caie's farm of 50 acres at Bombay to Mr U H Barker, and Mr Arnold s 54 acres to Mr E Barker • m
