COUNTY FINANCE.

At the meeting of the Franklin County Council held on Tuesday the clerk (Mr Alan P. Day) reported as follows :

County Fund Account—The overdraft at the National Bank on this account amounts to £5960 6s lOd ; unpresented cheques amount to £684 13s, making a total debit balance of £6644 19s lOd. The accounts passed for payment by the Finance Sub-coramittee on Ist December last amounted to £t)Bi lis. The accounts now due and payable amount to £699 8s lid. Government Grant Account—The credit balance .on this account is £649 7s lid; uupresented cheques of £lO4 lis lOd leave a net credit balance of £544 16s Id.

The accounts passed for payment on Ist December last by the Finance Subcommittee amounted to £166 Us 2cV The accounts now due and payable amount to £BBI 10s 2d.

Loan Accounts —The following are the credit balances on various loan accounts : Hunua riding roads loan, £7O 15s 9d; Needles Wharf loan, £149 6s 3d ; Pura Pura loan, £1 13s Gd; Puni district loan, £175 15s; Hill district loan, £ls 3s lOd; Hill district Mo. 2 loan, £l5B 7s lOd. TLo State Advances Department advise that the following loau monies have been remitted: Pratt's Hill deviation loan, £2OOO ; Hogwood's deviation loan, £350. Tho report was adopted, the accounts on the County Fund Account passed on December Ist und on Tuesday respectively being as follows : Genoial account £232 18s lid and £IBO is 9d ; Awhitu riding, £33 10s lOd and £33 10s Gd; Drury, £207 «s Id and £B2 3s Id ; Hunua, £2B los2d and £ll9 10s; Mauku, £155 10s lOd and £sl 14s sd; Mercor, £53 0s Gd and £32 lis (id; Pukekohe, £42 3s lOd and £IOO 12s 4d ; Waipipi. £2O 3s «Jd and £lO lbs Gd ; Waiuku, £22 4s 4d and £2O 13s 13s ad; contractor's deposits, £2 and £l7 7s.od ; land fund account, £l7 lis and nil; interests accounts, £65 17s 9d and £4O 10s 4d.
