THE NEW VIOAK The Bishop of Auckland, Dr A W Averill, paid a special visit to the newly-cans tituted parish of Pokepo-Bombay last Tuesday night to conduct a service tor the institution of the new Vicar, the Kev C A Vaußhan. Th 9 ceremony took place in the church of St. Mary's, Pokeno Valley, in the presence of a good congregation, to of whom the servica was a novelty, being the iirat of its kind in this district. '
The Bishop based bis addresa on St Paul's words, "Let a man- so account of us as the ministers of Christ," and those who were privileged to hear his discourse will long remember the earnest words of instruction acd advice to the new Vicar and his people. His Lordship testified to the good work the Vicar bad done in other places, and urged his hearers to give him their loyal support in his work, as tie felt sure they would. After the service, the Bishop, Vicar and party were entertained at Bupper at the residence of Bliss Johnston, who has always been a generous supporter of the Church in this district.
