PAPAKURA TOWN BOARD.

Special Meeting. A special meeting of the Papakura Town Board was held on Monday evening the members present being Messrs D. Stewart, chairman, D. W. Jones, E. Mear*, T. D. Campbell, A. Wallis, J. Bates, W. Crawford, and the clerk, Mr Qeissler. METAL SUPPLY.

It was resolved that the time for the closing of tenders for the supply of 150 yards of metal be extended to the January meeting, no tenders having been received. JOINT RANGER. A letter was received from the Wairoa Road Board suggesting a conference of members in cennectioi with the proposed appointment of a joint ranger.—lt was decided that as many members as possible should attend. CEMETERY SECTIONS.

A. long discussion took place upon the question of the letting of the cemetery sections. Members at first were unanimously of the opinion that they should be offered for sale at the March stock sale, the leases to be of twenty-one years duration. The question as to whether a building clause was included in the lease was raised by Mr Jones and tbe answer was that the successful bidder was net required to build at all. The point raised had apparently been overlooked, it being recognised that there was a possibility that the sections might be rented as a stock or accommodation paddock, and thus retard the growth of the town.—lt was therefore decided to defer the matter until the next meeting of Board to be held on January 10th. BROADWAY COENEE. It was decided to make the iinal payment in connection with the purchase of the corner on which the New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Company's office stands. WAIROA ROAD. Mr Campbell drew attention to the bad state of a portion of the Wairoa Road within the Town Board's boundaries.—lt was resolved that attention be given to the matter. OUTSTANDING RATES. The clerk reported that there were rates outstanding to the amount of £255. It was decided that the 10 per cent, penalty be enforced on all rates unpaid by the end of the year. ACCOUNTS. The following accounts were passed for payment: Alex. Young, £3 12s; W. M. Kerr, 7s; Walker and Sadler, £4; W. Croskery, £9 18s; J. Walker, £7 14s.
