TUAKAU
The following additional donations, etc., have been received for the Tuakau Patriotic League Carnival account, viz.:—Donation, M Foley, £1; sales of badges, per Miss Orr, Is 6d; refreshment stall, per Mrs Revell, £2 12s tid; G Johnston, donation, £l. A meeting of the Tuakau Patriotic League was held on Monday evening, in the committee room of the Tuakau Public Hall. Mr Dynes Fulton handed in his resignation as chairman of the League, as, offing to pressure of private business, he felt that he had not the time to fulfil the duties demanded by the position. It was unanimously decided that Mr Fulton ehould be asked to reconsider his decision, which he promised to do, and to report at a meeting to be field on Tuesday next. The Kev W Butterworth also handed in his resignation as eecretary and treasurer. He was also asked to reconsider his decision but expressed his inability to do so. Mr J Quinlan was elected to till the vacancy, sobject to his consent to act, he being unabla to be present at the meeting owing to having met with an accident.
