WAIAU PA.
At the meeting of the Franklin County Council btld last week, Ur Henry brought up the matter of necessary work on the main Waiau Pa road leading to the church, school and creamery. He repotted that the settlers, all through the winter and up to the present, had been traversing a portion of Messrs McLarin's and Boater's properties, owing to the state of tha road at Souter's, where there - was an impassable lagoon that bas been full of watsr for the last four or five months. I'he engineer, who I reported that be had laid cut the work and was preparing plana and an estimatj of the cost, was instructed to have tenders called within a fortnight, eo that the work could be gone on with aa early as possible.
