MR HILL'S DEATH.
Great regret is felt in the neighbourhood at the sad death of Mr John Cattwright Hill through the unfortunate railway accident, that occurred at Papakura station on the evening of November Bih. The deceased, who was 62 yeais of age, was born in London and came cut to New Zealand some forty years ago, first settling in Poverty Bay, where he resided some years, later taking up a farm at Taupiri, in conjunction with which he followed his occupation as a surveyor for about 25 years. Prior to coming to live at Runciman* some six months ago Mr Hill, with his wife and family, were farming at Mauku for four years. The deceased, who was a grand-nephew ot Sir Roland Hill, of postage fame, was of somewhat retiring disposition. He leaves a widow four sons and one daughter to mourn their loss, and great sympathy is extended to them by a large circle of friends and acquaintances.
