PUKEKOHE METHODIST ANNIVERSARY.
The 37th. anniversary of the Pukekohe Methodist Church was celebrated on Monday evening last by a Concert, held in the Oddfellow's Hall. A record gathering assembled and a programme of music occupied the greater portion of the evening. The Eev. G. Frost presided and submitted the balance sheet, which had been compiled by Mr E. Stevenson (trust treasurer). It 'showed that £l6 16s 4d was expended in the cleaning and lighting of the church, and insurance. The erection of anew wasbhouse and the laying of water thereto during the year at the parsonage cost £63 7s 9d of which £l9 had been paid, and it was hoped tba the balance would be liquidated by the end of the year through a special appeal to the congregation. The chnrman referred to his inopportune illness, and regretted hiving been unable to do ths wurk he would have liked to have accomplished. The adoption of the report followed, after which the church choir sang an anthem. Sings were rendered by Messrs W Jones, and Costam, and Mesdames Carter and Pilkington. Recitations were contributed by Mrs Honeyford, Miss Jackson and Master Vant, and farther anthems by ths choir. Refreshments were provided by the ladies. A pleasant evening concluded satisfactorily with the bene* diction.
