ALFRISTON & BROOKBY.
A well attended meeting of residents of the district was held in the Papakura Valley Hall on Saturday evening to discuss matters in connection with the Wounded Soldiers' Fund. Many promises of stock were made and it was decided that the donations be auctioned in the Hall ground on Saturday afternoon next. The stock include laufbs, sheep, pigs, calves, goats, fowls, a Shetland pony and a pedigree Holstein bull calf, by Earl of Cliffside— Queen of Alfriston.
Everything promises well lor the Grand Patriotic Bazaar to be held' in the Hall on Friday and Saturday next. It will be opened by the Queen oi the South (Mrs R. F. Bollard) at 2.30 on Friday and will be conducted day and night.
