The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile ;Agency Company, report: On Saturday we held a dairy cow sale at Pukekobe, when there was an average yarding. Dairy cowe, best, sold from £lO to £l7, others £6 to £9 5a and aged and inferior £2 to £4 10s. Beat heifers realised irom £7 to £il s', and others £5 to £6 15s. Bulls were disposed of at price! ranging from £6 to 13grs, according to quality- At the usual monthly stock Bale, held on Tutsday, beef said at , tully Westfield rates. Grown baliocks, in forward condition, were disposed of at prices fiom £l2 (up to £l4 15s. Three to lour year old steers sold from £lO 5* to £ll 17*,; two to three year olds, £6 los to £lO ss, and yearlings to 18 months £4 5s to 6gns. Empty cows and heifers realised from £5 10s to £8 lis, and yearling to 18 months heifers made from £2 15s to £5 Is. Messrs Alfred Buikland and dons report: We held a clearing sale on account of Mr W. H. B. Firth, The Grange, Patumaho?, on day, November 4tb. There was a very large attendance and we report a record sale. Fresh 2j to 3->ycar steers, £lO 7s; forward cows, £8; empty beiferß, £6 Is to £8 14s; cows in milk, £7 12s 6d to £lO 7s Gd. Horses sold at from £l2 to £37 10s; waggon, £35; bull, £2B; roller, £l4 10s; ploughs, £8; disc, £11; tine barrow, £3 10s; buggy, £4l.
We held our usual monthly sale at Waikuu on Saturday, November 6th, and had an extra large yarding, every pen and yard being utilised. There was a strong demand for all classes, and practically a total clearance was effected. Dairy cows and beifers made from £6 6s to £l2; fat steers, £l3 to £l6 ss, fat cows and heifers, £7 !0s to £ll 15s; fresh empty cowr, £6 to £8; small three year steers, £9 4s; two to two and a halt year steer?, £7 to £8 10a; vcarling to 18 months steers, £4 to £5 15s; heilers, same age, £3 5s to £4 15s; calver, £2 2s to £2 18s; smaller, 15s to £2; bulls, £7 to £lO lUs.
On Wednesday, November lOtb, at our weeklv Westtielii fat stock market our supply of berf numbered 541 head, comprising 359 steers, 141 cows ana heiferß, and 14 bulls. The quality and weight of the Bteers penned were equal to anything offered at Westfield. There was a steady demand throughout, but generally values receded about" 10s a head. Choice ox sold to £2 6s per 1001b; prime, £2 2s to £2 ss; otdinary, £1 8s to £2 Is; cows and heifers, £1 16s to £2 4s; steers ranged in price from £ll 10s to £22; cows and heifers, £6 15a to £ls 15s. The highest averages for steers included 8 from Mr George Hull, Otaua, £l7 8s Bd. Sheep were in about average numb, ers and sold steadily at values which were on a par with last week. Extra heavy prime woolly wethers, £1 178 9d to £1 19s 9d, shorn £1 9s 6d to £1 lis 3d; heavy prime woolly wethers, £1 15s 6d to £1 17s, shorn £1 7s to £1 9b; medium to heavy woolly, £1 12s to £1 15s; shorn £1 4s to £1 6s 6a; best woolly ewes, £1 13s to £1 16s 6d, shorn £l 4s to £1 7s; good woolly ewes, £1 7s to £1 10s, shorn £1 Is to £1 3s 6d, other Bhorn ewes, 17s to £1—1627 sold, 'ihe 134 spring lambs penned were far below requirements, and sold at record prices. Best heavy, £1 8s 6d to £1 10s 9d, good £1 4s to £1 Bs, lighter £1 to £1 3s 6d, light 16s 6d to 19s. There was an average number ot fat and young calves, which sold freely throughout at slightly lower values. Runners sold to £7 10s; heavy suckers £4 5s to £4 15s; medium suckers, £3 10s to £4 2s 6d, lighter £2 7s 6d to £3, light £1 15s to £2 7s; small and freshdropped, 3s to 135—121 sold. Pigs were penned in large numbers, and late high values were fully maintained. Baconers and choppers are required. Choppers realised from £4 5s to £6 7s, according tn quality. Heavy baconers, £4 5s to £4 15s, medium baconers £3 18s to £4 4s, light baconers, £3 5s to £3 15s; heavy porkers, £2 15s to £3 3s, medium porkers £2 8s to £2 14s, lighter £1 18s to £2 6s, light and unfinished £1 12s to £1 17s; stores to £1 16s; weaners, £1 to £1 7s; suckers, 18a —2b2 sold.
