ARDMORE.
AN OLD IDENTITY'S DEATH. A well-known and highly respected resident passed over the great divide on Thursday last, in the person of Mr Daniel Brisbane, of Ardmore. Mr Brisbane, who was in his seventy-eighth year, waa one ot the oldeat settlers ot the district in which he had resided tor nearly half a century. He bad during that period been resident at Ararirau, Drury, Papakura and Utterly at Ardmore, at the lastnamed of which places he bad a farm. At Drury he (at cne time waa in business as a storekeeper. During the last twelve months his health had been failing. The Jdeeeaied leaves two \ sons, one of whom resides at» Ardmore, and several daughters. The funeral, which took place at the Papakura Cemetery on Friday, was largely attended, the service being conducted by the Rev. Walker, of Clevedon.
