An impromptu, but hearty welcome was extended to Mr Stanley Ohlson on his return from the Dardnelles last week,. Although the notice was extremely short several energetic individuals got to work and before the arrival of Mr Ohlson and his father, the township was gaily decorated with bunting whilst Mr Bark, the local schoolmaster, who is always to the fore when a hepling hand is needed, had the school children lined up ready to salute the first from the Dardanelles with a hearty cheer. Mr D. A. Moore, County Councillor, spoke a few fitting words of welcome, endeavouring, as he said, to voice the feelings of the whole settlement, nearly every house being represented by the school children. Mr Ohlson was only detained for a few minutes and responded briefly. Later on a welcome in the Hall will be tendered to both Mr Stanley Oblson and Mr Bert Clark. The latter was unfortunate enough to be invalided after the engagement at the Suez Canal, and returned some weeks ago.
