STOCK SALE REPORTS.

Messrs Alfred Buckland and Sons report as follows: We held a special sale of dairy stock at Runciman on Saturday, October 16th. About the advertised number came forward, and found keen buyers all but one cow being sold, at prices from £lO to £l2 10s for best, others £5 to £8 10s, bulls £6 to 13gns.

We held our second cattle fair in the Runciman yards on Tuesday last, when less than the advertised number were yarded, one line of steers not coming forward. There was a large attendance and many buyers, all clasei meeting with strong sale at record prices. Four and rive year old steers in forward condition made from £l4 to £ls, forward three to four year olds £ll 10s to £l3 10s, two to three year olds £7 10s to £ll, yearling to 18 mouths £3 15a to £6 10s, 18 months to two year old heifers £3 10s to £5 ss, empty cows £4 5s to £8 10s, fat oows and heifers £8 to £l2 10s, calves £1 13s to £2 16s.

On Wednesday last, at our weekly Westtield fat stock market, our entry of beet numbered 362 head, comprising 262 steers, 107 cows and heifers, and three bulls. The quality was again first class. There was a strong demand throughout, ruling rates being easily sustained. Choice ox sold to £2 7s, prime quality £2 3s to £2 ss, ordinary £1 18s to £2 2s, cows and beifeis £1 16s to £2 ss. Steers ranged in price from £l2 10s to £24. A draft of 37 steers from Messrs Fnedlander Brothers, Surrey *arm, Pokeao, realised £l6 2s 6d. The sheep pens were moderately tilled with a nice class of mutton, which sold steadily, although on the whole values were slightly easier than last week. The 93 spring lambs were insufficient for requirements, and values ruled high. Best made from £1 6s 6d to £1 8s 9d. The 91 fat and young calves were short of requirements, ana met with keen competition at improved rates. Figs came forward in average numbers prices for all classes were tinner; heavy choppers £4 to £5 15s, rougher sorts £3 10s to £4 ss, heavy baconers £4 5s to £4 17s 6d, medium baconers £3 15s to £4 2s 6d, light baconers £3 5b to £3 13s; heavy porkers, £2 16s to £3 2a, medium porkers £2 8s to £2 14s, light £2 to £2 6s, small and on finished £1 12s to £1 18s, Blips £1 6s to £1 12s, weaners 15s to £1 38-204 sold.
