MOTHER GOOSE PANTOMIME.
At Pukekohe Next Monday.
Stanley McKay and Go's production of "Mother Go.e" has been acknowledged by the press of Melbourne, Adelaide, Perth, Hobart, and Launcston as an unqualified success. The book is clever and funny, without being vulgar, while all the songs, dances and choruses are the very latest. Some 15 scenes from the brushes of well-known artists are shown during the action of the pantomime, four of which form a beautiful transformation representing Spring, Summer, Autumn and Winter. The part of Mother Gcose has an-able exponent in Jimmy Gerald, who has made a soecialty of dame characterisation. In mike-up, voice and deportment he is tne funny old lady to a nicety. With Mr WiH Rayner (Old King Goh) he appears in burlesques of "East Lynne" and the iruchdiscussed Tango dance, during which the audience are kept in screams of laughter. As thy Blue, Miss Essie Jennings has all the necessary charms requisite for a successful p-incipnl boy. She has an excellent figure, is a skilful dancer, besides being full ot ilfe and vivacity. Miss Rogie Coleman (Ked Hiding Hood) is the p:ssessor of a line snpra:;o voicr, her duets with Boy Biu2 being features of the performance.
incidental to the pantomime la a wonderful acrobatic act by the Fre.lo fires. While playing violins th y go through a number of Almost impossible evolutions, keeping perfect time and tune the while. It is undoubtedly one of the cleverest acts of its kind ever seen in Australasia.
