PAPAKURA.
[A branch office of the "Pukckohe Times" has been opened la Papakura at the land and estate agency building of Mr Godwin I). Smith under the residential management of Mr A. G. Yardley. A'lvtu. and prilling orders will be received ut the office and notices ot forthcoming events in the Papakuis, Drury, Clevedor, Rama Kama, Bombay and surroundirg districts ehculd be sent to Mr Yardley],
It is stated on good authority that the erection uf about six houses will shortly be commenced by'the purchaser of the Anglican Church sections. It is possible also that a boardiaghousa and shops will be erected on the property. Mr E. S. Cole will, it is stated, contest the seat on the Town Board which will re rendered vacant through the retirement of Mr A. Willis. Mr Cole has already had fourteen years' experience on the Board, and therefore bis services etould be of the greatest value to the ratepayers. Mr McLennan has decided definitely not to be a candidate, business on his farm preventing bis acceptance of nomination. It is understood that Mr W. Richardson has also declined nomination.
In the event of enough stock being donated to the Papakura Carnival Fund, it is proposed to hold a special sale. The Committee of course is mo it anxious that a special sale will be necessary, and the canvassing committee wili work with this object in view.
