MERCER TOWN BOARD

MONTHLY MEETING

The regular monthly meeting of the above authority was held last Tuesday night when the following members were present, viz., Messrs G. Morgon, chairman, 11. Valentine and C. Watkinson together with the clerk, Mr P. King. PROPOSED RIVER BRIDGE. A communication was received per Mr B. F. Bollard, M.P., from from the Minister of Publ'c Works stating that he could not, at the present time, entertain the proposal to erect a traffic bridge across the Waikato river at Mercer, owing to the stringency of money, but that in tbe event of things brightening the following year he would give the matter his earnest consideration. MISCELLANEOUS It was decided to repair tbe Riverbank road, and to blind tbe main street with scoria. REPORT. Tbe chairman reported having engaged a surfaceman, tbe result of whose work on the roads was already noticeable.
