WAIAU PA.
A meeting of dairy suppliers was held in the Waiau Fa Public Hall on Friday morning last, the attendance bordering' on thirty. Mr H. E. Pacey, managing direct r of the New Zealand Dairy Asacciation, attendtd, and spoke of the prospects of the industry for the current season. Be further announced a new basis of payment for butterfat, particulars of which appear in another column in this issue, and agreed to make arrangements for the reception of cream at the Waiau Pa whatf for the c rveyance of the same to the Wnuku

Mr Pacey wa* cirdially thanked for his address, aatisfaction berg txpresred not only with his management of affairs, but with the extremely satisfactory cheques that had come to hand for August supplies', viz., at the rate of Is 3id per lb for buter-fat. Mr Wesley Spragg, ex-managing director ot the Dairy Association, accompanied Mr Pacey in his visit to the district on Friday last, although he did not attend the supmeeting. In course of conversation with several old triends, Mr Spragg mentioned that he noted the rapid devel ipmert that had taken placJ in Waiau Pa since his last visit, snd thought that the settlers were to be corgratulsted ▲henoi. The party also included Neil Spragg, son cf Mr Wesley Spragg, who leaves next week to join the Aviation Corps in England preparatory to service in the war. The district was never looking better thsn at present and there is An abundance cf ieed everywhere. Supplies to the factory are accordingly rapidly increasing.
