Ihe Proprietcrj of the "Pukekohe and Wniuku Times" beg to announce tbat in order to expedite publication of paper as well as to dispense with the existing laborious method of hand-folding ihey have purchased au automatic folder of the very latest design and pattern, by which each and every copy of the paper will be delivered from the machine folded and ready lor distribution. The new machine will be installed next week and may be inspected, when running at times of publication, by interested persons desiring to sea it in operation. Mias E. M. HisHOD, from Manchester, England, will conduct the service on Sunday evening at the Tuakau Methodist Church. Messrs Alfred Buckland and Sons are to hold a clearance sale on behalf of Mr Robt. Hull on the farm, at Aka Aka, on Tuesday cf next week. Particulars will be fuund in our advertising ciulmns. Cecil Frederick Cave, of Puke kohe, has received word of the acceptance, by the Defence authori ties, of his application fur enrolment as a member of he New Zealand Reinforcements. Those who aie in the carrying trad- 5 , either for goods or passengers, are finding that the war is hitting them hard. Chaff has gone up from about £4 or £5 a ton to about £9, and it is expected that it will continue to rise, owing to tha fact that fodder is needed for all horses sent from New Zealand to the front. In regard to motor traffic the position is not belter, owing to the abnormally heavy demand for petrel and rubber tor i the army service. IJp-to-date and cosy confectionery and tea rooms have this week been opened in the Premier Hall buildings, Pukekohe, by Mr H. Aspden, who respectfully solicits a fair share of local patronage. The premises have been renovated and re-furnished and present a very attractive appearance. Afternoon teas are made a speciality and lollies and other confectionery stocked are guaranteed to be of the highest posiible quality. Superintendent Kieley, in charge of the Auckland l'olice Division, paid an official visit of inspection to Pukekohe and Waiuku on Wed nesday. Picture patrons will be nleasei to k ow that the film t. Marie Corel 1 i'b papular story, "The Vendetti," will be shown on Wednesday nighl next at the Premier Hall. The friends of the Kev.
