Dogs at Large.
TO THE EDITOR.]
Sir,— looking at the number of collarless dogs to be seen about our town, it would give one the impression that very little caie, if any, is paid to the Bale of collars. Something might be done, too, to lessen the quantity of stray dogs to be found on our streets. A number of these may be accounted for by having been loßt by their owners aftn- bringing cattle into the various sales. Some, if any good, are advertised for, but otherwise they are allowed to find a home for themselves in somebody's garden ur back yard. I here are more dogs to the a-ra in Pukekohe than in any otter town between here and Wellington. To my mind, if the sale of collars was enforced, without respect to persons, muny useless animals that are now kept to please "Dear little Johnnie" would be put away.—l am, etc., SUFFERER. Fukekohe.
