AUCKLAND MARKET REPORT.
Mr J. Jones, auctioneer, Victoria and Lome streets, Auckland, reports:—The market this week has been Bteady. The poultry market was well supplied and.valuea were good. Prime roosters ara in good demand. Potatoes are much firmer. Butter and cheese are in strong demand. We quote:— Poultry, 9JO penned.-Hens, good heavy Is 9d to 2j 2d, prime lots 2s 2d to 2s lOrl, ordinary Is 4d to Is 7d; ducks, 2s to 2s 9d; roosters, prime 3s 6d to 4s 6d, good 3s to 3s 3d, small Is *Jd to 2s 4d; turkeys, gobblers 6s to 8s 6d, hens, 3s to 4s 61 Pigs, 8s to 13s 4d.
Dairy produce.—Butter, Is 2d to Is 3Jd; eggs, fresh. Is S£d to Is 9Jd; cheese, BJd to 9}d; hams, 9Jd to lOd; fides, 9d to 9fcd; lard, 6fcd; dressed pigs, 4d to sd, according to weight. Farm produce.—Potatoes, southern table £7 10s to £8 5?, southern seed varieties £6 10s to £7 15s; local potatoes, table £5 to £6, seed £4 10s to £5 10s; onions, £7; pumpkins, £3 to £3 10s; swedse, £2 to £2 10s; kumaras, £7 10s to £9; citrons, £2 10s to £3 10?. Frjit.—Apples, dessert 5s to 6s 6d, cookers 4s 6d to 5s 9J; pears, 5s to 7s 6d; lemons, 4s 6d to 7s. Grain —Maize, 6s 6d; wheta, 7s lOd; oats, Eeed. 5s 3d; Algerian, x.m. dressed, 7s 9d; barley, 6s 3d; bran, £9; sharrs. £lO 10s; pig and fowl meal, 13s 6d sack; chaff, southern, £lO 10s.
