A HERO'S DEATH.

The list of deaths in actioi at the Dardanelles, lublisbtd on Tuesday, included the name of Major Kobert Horatio Bayly, who wai killed on the battlefield un Thursday of last week. Major Bayly who was commanding the 15th, North Auckland Company of the Auckland Infantry Battalion, was a veiy popular member of a well-known Pukekohe family, born in 1880, he spent hia boyhood days in Pukekohe and after being educated at King's College and tiie Auckland University College, he took up teaching as his profession, and prior to joining the Expeditionary Force he was one of the masters at King's College. The greatest sympathy is extended to his brothers and Bisters in their sad bereavement.
