BUCKLAND.
A SHOOTING AUCILent. On Sunday afternoon a j^oy« named Eric.Catbcart, 10 vear3 c j age, eon of Mr K. Cathcait, ot UC k. land, was seriously injured by being shot with a pea rifle. The (joy, it appears, went out Bhooting| W ith another lad, and the latter taking aim found that he could noi {j re the gun off. Whilst the two . oya were making an examination of the cause the hammer slipped and . ne bullet entered Eric Cathcait's boty in the vicinity of the liver. D. Bronte, of Pukekohe, was sen for, and under his instructions the unforunate boy was conveyed to the Auckland Hospital in Mr Ivan Motion's motor car, Mr Motion kindly driving through to Auckland for the purpose. An operation was performed and from latest -.dvices the boy is progressing fa\ *ablv.
